Moral and Ethical Measurement Scales In Emerging Technological Contexts: A Critical Analysis
In the growing interest in understanding how morality and ethics are addressed in emerging technologies, this article uses a semi-systematic review to evaluate how scales measure and examine these concepts through a metanarrative of the literature. The systematic search was carried out in the Scopus, Ebsco, Web of Science, Emerald, and Wiley databases, resulting in a sample of eleven articles that applied scales to measure moral and ethical actions related to the use of technology. It is noteworthy that most of the articles are based on the Multidimensional Ethics Scale (MES). The results show a scarcity of scales and a lack of methodological rigor, highlighting the pressing need for substantial advances in measuring ethics and morality in the technological fields.
